WA Silver PeakDestination: Silver Peak, Cascades, WA
Style: Hiking (Moderate)
Entered: 9/5/2003
Report: Silver Peak is a moderate hike around
Snoqualamie Pass. Stig and I left the car at 4200' at 3:45pm and made the
summit at 5600' by 5:30pm. We think it is probably around 4-5 miles
round trip. To get there drive I90 to exit 54. Take a
right, then go straight into the parking lot. Drive through the
parking lot finding an obscure road to your left. Follow this road to
the waste water treatment plant and follow the dirt next to it. At 2.5
miles there's the trail head for an 8 mile loop. We went another 2 miles
to the Pacific Crest Trail and started there (go south on the PCT). The
first mile and half are an easy walk through nice forest. You'll come
to a very small pond and a carn eventually and here you go right to go up
the peak or straight to continue on to Mirror Pound. The next 1/2
mile is steep and the last 1/2 mile is very rough over steep
rocks.
